OUR MISSION

The mission of the church is not one that is unique to us. It also is not one that we created. The mission of the church was set by the one who instituted the church– Jesus. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands us, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

While there are many ways to express this mission, the mission statement our church has adopted is:

Connecting EVERY generation to God, others, and service.

OUR VISION

The message of the Gospel must always stay the same because it is the message that changes lives, but our methods must adapt to reach people in the culture we are living. Because of this, in January 2023, our church implemented a vision entitled, Broaden the Net.

In Matthew 4, Jesus says to the disciples he called that he would make them fish for people. Fishing for people was an analogy of reaching anyone and everyone with the Gospel. Jesus did not focus on a certain age or demographic. He wanted his disciples to be about reaching everyone. Similarly, in 1 Corinthians 9, Paul explained that his approach to sharing the message with others was to “become all things to all people.” We are called to reach EVERY generation with the unchanging Gospel message through methods that are culturally relevant.

Through this vision, our church is currently exploring and praying about implementing some additional outreach methods, hoping to reach more people with the Gospel.
